Blog 89, 1/12/11 - Sony Open Pick

It's looking like the weather is going to play havoc with the Sony Open at Waialae CC in Honolulu. Today's pro-am was a washout, and there's a whole lot more rain expected.

Blog 88, 1/11/11 - How to hit Bubba's Amazing Shot, Dues Due at Lake Padden

It's early days of course, but if you saw Bubba Watson's incredible 50-yard slice with a driver off the deck on the 18th hole at Kapalua last week, you may already have seen the best shot of 2011. Having said that, it might not actually have been as difficult as it looked.

Blog 87, 1/9/11 - Christmas Classic, Hyundai TOC and Polar Bear Open Results

Everyone who has played TPC Sawgrass knows what an incredibly difficult course it is. Anyone using an AboutGolf simulator for the first time in several months knows how tricky it is to get the hang of chipping and putting, especially on a course with the manic undulations of TPC Sawgrass. And everyone who goes golfing with their son or daughter knows how difficult it is to say 'No' to them when they so desperately want to hit your shot for you. So, hopefully everyone will understand just how I managed to shoot 118 in the Christmas Classic Indoor Golf Tournament at Joe's Professional Golf Lab on Friday.

Blog 86, 1/5/11 - Hyundai Tournament of Champions Preview, Shuksan Lottery Winner, Polar Bear Open

The 2011 PGA Tour begins tomorrow with the Hyundai Championship at Kapalua on the island of Maui. This year's event, which brings together last season's tournament winners, doesn't boast the greatest field in the world (actually, that's not true because it is considerably better than that playing the European Tour's Africa Open in East London, South Africa, and altogether stronger than the turnout for the Victorian Open in Australia), but because it's the start of a new season and seven of the world's top 15 players are taking advantage of the climate, scenery and guaranteed money (no cut. Last year, last place earned just over $70,000), there is an inevitable sense of anticipation. But who will get the new year off and running in the best fashion possible?
