Blog 174 - Guest Blogger James Hawley; Buddies Trip to Virginia and West Virginia

The annual buddies golf trip is a sacred event. Most guy golfers would probably admit (when it's safe to do so) they look forward to it more than the family vacation. It's a special time when you get to say, see, drink and eat things you don't at home, and the memories last longer than everything else that happened one, five, 10, 15, or 20 years ago - wedding day and kids' birthdays excepted.
My personal favorite was a trip to Ireland when two mates and I hopped on a plane from London to Belfast and, without having planned a single tee-time or night's accommodation, spent four days playing some amazing links golf and enjoying the local hospitality. We were young and reckless, and there's no way I'd set out so under-prepared again...but, man, it was fun.
Today, guest blogger James Hawley gives us a flavor of his latest trip during which he and three buddies continued their quest to play America's top 100 courses - an adventure they began back in the late 1990s.
