Blog 273, 7/22/13 - Cowell Finishes T3 in Spokane; Strickland Wins in Everett

coreyprughMatt Cowell, a PGA professional at Lake Padden, shot a three-under 68 in yesterday's final round of the Rosauers Open at Indian Canyon to complete the 54 holes on twelve-under 201 and in a tie for third. Cowell, who led the tournament after a first-round 61, finished two back of Spokane's Corey Prugh (right) who won the event, the biggest on the Pacific Northwest PGA's calendar, for the third time. Luke Bennett, Lake Padden's Director of Instruction, finished tied for 43rd on one-over 214.

stricklandeverettWestern Washington University's Mark Strickland (right) won the Everett Amateur for the second straight year yesterday, firing a two-under 70 at Legion Memorial to go with the three-under 69 he had shot at Walter Hall on Saturday. The junior-to-be from Mukilteo finished three shots clear of three players tied for second.
