Seventh after the opening day with rounds of 298 (+10) and 294 (+6), the Vikings shot a disappointing third and final round 327 (+39) to finish the tournament on 919 (+55), 45 shots behind the winner Nova Southeastern.
"The conditions were breezy, firm and fast, much different from what we're used to," said WWU coach Steve Card. "I felt that we played hard all day under tough conditions and in a very challenging field. So, I'm not that disappointed considering they were our first competitive rounds of the spring."
Jake Webb was top Viking, finishing 12th in medal play on 222 (+6) after a final round 79. Evan Needham was 29th on 228 (79), Kyle Schrader tied for 49th on 234 (84), Dylan Goodwin finished 61st on 240, and Mark Strickland was tied for 62nd on 243.
Abilene Christian's Alex Carpenter took medalist honors on three-under 213 - two strokes better than runner-up Kevin Witte from Colorado-Colorado Springs.
