Blog 218, 7/4/12 - Vaughan Wins Seattle Amateur; Gebhardt Finishes T14 in Michigan

sandyvWestern Washington senior-to-be Sandy Vaughan (right) won the Seattle Amateur Championship yesterday, shooting a final round one-under 71 at West Seattle GC to finish the 54-hole tournament on two-under 212, two clear of Viking teammate Mark Strickland in second.
Vaughan, a Seattle native, began the tournament on Sunday with a two-under 68 at Jefferson Park, then followed with a one-over 73 at West Seattle on Monday. His closing 71 on the same course included three back-nine birdies that avenged his runner-up finish of last year.
