With rounds of 302 and 304, Western Washington University is in third place out of 13 teams at the California State University East Bay Pioneer Shootout being played at Hiddenbrooke GC in Vallejo, Calif. “We had a disappointing morning round except for Dylan and Nick,” said WWU coach Steve Card. “Then the weather conditions got very challenging in the afternoon. It’s supposed to be windy again tomorrow, and we’ll need an exceptional round in those conditions to get back in this thing.”
Dylan Goodwin is third individually after posting a morning 72, and a 74 after lunch. Nick Varelia, two places back, shot a superb 70 in round one but struggled in the afternoon with a 78.
Meanwhile Jake Webb and Brian Barhanovich are tied for 32nd on 156, and Evan Needham is back in a tie for 55th on 163.
Leading the individual competition is GCU's Brandon Moore who shot 69-74 today.
