Jessi Gebhardt's 2012 season is off and running, and so far the Bellingham native has strung together some encouraging results as she prepares for her third season on the LPGA's secondary tour which this year will be sponsored by Bellevue, WA-based financial services company Symetra.
Gebhardt's first 2012 appearance came at the Cactus Tour's Event #3 at the Wigwam Resort in Phoenix where she tied for 10th with a 54-hole total of five-over 221. The following week, she shifted to the Grasshopper Tour which was set up by former LPGA player Dina Ammaccapane to compete with the Cactus Tour. At the Grasshopper's inauguaral event, played at Seville GCC in Gilbert, AZ., Gebhardt posted another T10 finish. In the second tournament, she shot 219 at Wildfire GC to finish tied sixth.
This week, Gebhardt is at Lone Tree GC in Chandler, AZ., where she opened the third Grasshopper event with a one-under 70 Tuesday that included birdies at her two opening holes.
"I feel great about my game, and my hard work is really paying off," she said on her blog afterwards. "During the break, I worked hard on my putting stroke, and now I feel like I can make any putt I look at."

The first event of the Men's Club season at Lake Padden is scheduled for Saturday March 10th. The 'Get Acquainted' will be an individual Gross and Net by division with play off the Green tees. Men's Club secretary Steve Swank says players need to have paid their members dues prior to the tournament to be eligible to play. Breakfast will be served at 7am and a Men's Club meeting will follow at 8am. The golf starts with a 9am shotgun.

Congratulations to Matt Cowell, Charlie Bolton, Charlie Myers, and Marc Walker who teamed up to win the Evans Scramble last weekend. The quartet shot a gross 130. Cam Frick, Ben Richards, Emerson Dohm, and Jordan Sarai won the Net prize with an impressive 118. Congratulations also to Shane Clarke who won the Winter Golf Tour (WGT) Par 3 tournament two weeks ago with a terrific one-over 55. The final event of the Winter Golf Tour will be played this coming Saturday (March 3rd). Click here for current WGT standings.
