Blog 170, 10/20/11 - Gebhardt Shoots Closing 72 in Arizona; Gaggero Wins Section Award; New Memberships Available at Bellingham Golf and Country Club

jessigBellingham's Jessi Gebhardt (right) closed the Arizona Women's Open at the Wigwam Resort in suburban Phoenix with a level-par 72 that saw her complete the 54-hole event on five-over-par 221 and tied for 25th. After beginning the tournament with a 77, the former Oregon State University and Bellingham High School player bounced back well, shooting even-par 144 for her final 36 holes. Jasi Ancharya won the tournament after defeating 18 and 36-hole leader Selanee Henderson in a playoff. The pair had completed the three rounds on eight-under 208, three clear of Dina Ammaccapane in third.

Two weeks after being awarded the President's Plaque by his peers in the Western Washington Chapter of the Pacific Northwest PGA (PNWPGA), in recognition of his leadership and mentorship skills while Director of Instruction at Lake Padden, Phil Gaggero has won the PNWPGA Section's President's Plaque. Now the Head Professional at Shuksan, Gaggero received the award last night at the PNWPGA Merchandise Show being held at the Portland Metro Expo Center in Portland, OR.
