Congratulations also to Mike Hatfield who was the leading points scorer on the Winter Golf Tour with 970 points (Mike entered more events than Larry Johnson, who also earned 970 points, so was declared the points winner).
The WGT Grand Finale will be played Saturday March 26th. The top 16 players play for one big bonus payout. The top four point-winners will draft the remaining 12 point-leaders. The format is a ‘Four-Person One Gross/Two Net Best Ball’.
The winning team wins pro shop credit - last year's winners received $1000.
This Saturday March 19th marks the beginning of the Men's Club spring/summer season (have you seen the daffodils springing up?) with an event labeled 'Get Acquainted'. The tournament is an individual strokeplay (Gross and Net prizes) and will be played off the green tees with Winter Rules (mark position of ball, lift, clean, and places within six inches of the original position) in effect. All players must have a valid GHIN handicap to play. New members must present proof of at least five current scores to establish a 'temporary' handicap, or play as a zero handicap. Turn up at 7am for a made-to-order breakfast. A meeting will then be chaired by Men's Club President Quentin Thompson, and play starts with a 9am shotgun.
