PNGA Amateur Public Links Championships Set for Lake Padden

The 27th PNGA Men’s Amateur and the 13th Senior Men’s and Women’s Amateur Public Links Championships commence at Lake Padden tomorrow morning. All three are 36-hole strokeplay events awarding gross and net prizes. They will run concurrently with each playing from a separate set of tees.

The PNGA Mens, Seniors and Womens Amateur Public Links Championships begin at Lake Padden Saturday morning. Notable competitors in the Amateur Championship include 1992 Champion Kim Hubbart of Sammamish, and Sean Packer of Bonney Lake. In the Senior Championship, notables include 2000 Amateur Champion Larry Daniels of Seattle, and four-time Senior Champion, Kent Brown of Colville. The Women’s Championship includes 2008 Champion Kate Hildahl of Tualatin, Ore.
I won't be there to watch sadly as I'll be at Chambers Bay for the US Amateur Championship. Tomorrow is semi-finals day. Stanford University's David Chung plays defending champion Byeong-Hun An, while the world's number one-ranked amateur Peter Uihlein plays 18-year-old Patrick Cantlay who is headed to UCLA as soon as the tournament is over.
