Tyler Wong, one Bellingham Golfer's contributing PGA professionals (see his instructrion page here) is tied for 22nd at the Washington Open Invitational after a second round 71 that put him on three-over 145 for the tournament through 36 holes.
Leading the event, at Glendale CC in Bellevue, is Semiahmoo's Jeff Coston who shot a terrific 66 yesterday to complete two rounds at eight-under 134. Battle Creek GC's Ryan Benzel and Oswego Lake CC's Brent Murray were both a shot back. Defending champion Brian Thornton of Meridian Valley CC was tied for 55th after rounds of 77 and 74 and therefore missed the 36-hole cut which reduced the field to the top 50 professionals.
In the Pro-Am event, running concurrently with the Open Invitational, Tyler and partner Dave Moree had a better-ball 66 on Tuesday and are now tied for 36th on 134.
